Soft Pretzel Recipe!
Ruth's Travelogue - with dolphin & other photos around Murrells Inlet, and a poem to picture family & friends having fun!
We had a great vacation, the best beach week of our lives! Ruth and Joe invited Ruth's parents, the first time in November the four of us stayed at the beach. We enjoyed fabulous fellowship & food. Blessed with beautiful brisk weather for our week of relaxed fun, with days that climbed into the 40-50º’s F, and nights dropping below freezing.
We went Wednesday, returning Tuesday so we could go to my brother John’s school Thanksgiving program the next day, and to my sister and our brother-in-law’s house for Thanksgiving the following day. We have so much for which we give thanks! We are so very thankful to Trina that we can relax at her Place At The Beach, share so much fun with extended family, and enjoy her beautifully inviting and welcoming condominium, always clean and equipped with everything we could want and need!

Mid-November, the normal High is 66-68°F. On November 13 — a week before — it was 79°F where we were planning to go. When we arrived, the High was the normal Low, 45°F; the Low a record, 28°F. We experienced another day that warmed up to 45°F, and the temperature fluctuated with highs within the forty’s and fifty’s the rest of our time, nights dropping into the twenty's and thirty's. November 22 I went outside and felt the 24.8°F, nineteen degrees below normal. On November 24 Daddy was fishing layered in a goose down vest and wool hat; Mother went swimming in the ocean with water temperature the same as air temperature, in the 50º’s F.
We especially loved visiting George, Diane, & Alana at their home in Conway for a Thanksgiving celebration with Diane’s parents. Another highlight of our visit was meeting Trina’s next-door neighbors Dick & Nita of Connestee Falls (near my parents in Brevard), and seeing Trina's neighbors we have come to love. We wished to have seen her neighbors we know, Ken & Sue, missionaries to China, who were "out West" during our stay. As always, we enjoyed worshipping at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church.
Quote from Daddy on fishing: "If the fish aren't biting, they soon will be, and if they are, who in the world would want to quit?"
