Papaya for the Picking
Papaya for the Picking
The papaya tree, a beautiful plant commonly and erroneously referred to as a “tree”, is closely related to the passionflower; the large, fast-growing herb gives us the most common papaya we see in stores, ‘Caribbean Red’, fruits that weigh as much as 20 pounds, but usually around 1-3 pounds, hanging on short stalks in a cluster-like pattern, directly from the trunk, under the umbrella of segmented giant leaves To all who visit and view, and – especially – express support and satisfaction: you are much appreciated!
