Delicate for a Day
Delicate for a Day
Each flower lasts only one day, and though not a true iris, yet a member of the same family, Iridaceae, Yellow Walking Iris, or Apostle Plant (Neomarica longifolia, or Trimezia martinicensis), a unique plant native to Central and South America, tolerating both drought and flooding: in a natural environment, the plants will root into the ground and start a new plant, over time spreading large clumps in every direction, the literally "walking" its way into a new existence; however, confined they will not form new plants, but will remain as beautiful contained specimens To all who visit and view, and – especially – express support and satisfaction: you are much appreciated!
