"A picture is worth a thousand words"
The U.S. Virgin Islands were first inhabited by Carib, Arawak, and Taino Indians: in common with the rest of the Caribbean, they endured various waves of European invasion and settlement – with forced expulsion and extermination – from the 1490's onwards; the islands were also once a top looting destination for pirates, a place to conceal treasure, and, after changing hands several times, finally part of the Danish West Indies, then the USA in 1917 To all who visit and view, and – especially – express support and satisfaction: you are much appreciated!
